Following an extensive staff development programme, two members of the W. G. Davies management team have recently graduated with Diplomas in Applied Business.

Rachel Davies, Marketing & Quality manager at the firm’s Swansea headquarters and Neil Osbourne, the dealership’s Group Parts manager based at Cardiff, have been burning the midnight oil studying on the business diploma course for almost 18 months.

Focusing on four individual business modules: Marketing, Finance, People Management and Operational Activities, the transport orientated course involved a great deal of independent study, along with regular tutorials co-ordinated by training organisation: BDS Europe. BDS, work in conjunction with MAN Truck & Bus UK, to provide a dedicated and focussed training operation where candidates can work with experienced mentors to grow their individual strengths and qualifications with MAN’s working philosophies in mind. BDS have helped develop training programmes for dozens of MAN franchised staff throughout the UK.

Malcolm Jones, the W. G. Davies Operations Director, attended the Graduation Ceremony at the Celtic Manor hotel. “Developing our staff is vital to our on-going business model; this industry changing at an alarming rate and we need young managers such as Rachel and Neil to ‘step up’ and develop their skills to keep our business operating efficiently and effectively. The Applied Business Diploma course has already proven to be a great success, with both graduates blossoming in their respective roles - far beyond our expectations. Their diplomas will assist in developing their management skills even further.”

Congratulation to Rachel and Neil, good luck on your individual employment journeys ahead.
